Papers include typescript copies of speeches given by Mr. Barriger, President of the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Company in Pittsburgh as well os journal articles, the 1962 annual report for the railroad and a published address on the history of the railroad given by Alfred E. Perlman, Chairman of the Board of the P&LE. The speeches offer Barrigers's insights during that time, such as the issue ofrailroad consolidation and the proposed Lare Erie-Ohio River Canal.
